Sure, the customer is king but let’s face it, some of them are just irrational, difficult and downright horrible. Fortunately, they don’t make up the majority. So, what do you do when you’re faced with the client from Hades that you’d rather throttle than serve? Put the following steps into practice, of course.

- Company Offshore Support
Company offshore support can be seen in the context of either production off shoring or services off shoring. For some IT managers, using company offshore support operations to provide telephone support remains a thorny issue.
- Bureaucrats
Some time ago we built our office building down here in Florida. We also built one up in Ohio and this gave us an opportunity to watch bureaucrats up close and personal, and I can't really say there are substantial differences between the north and the south in this regards. In both instances we had to deal with government regulators who issued permits, inspectors and others who supervised construction. I think it's good that we have such checks and balances, but I'm disturbed by the inordinate amount of red tape they create. I also find such bureaucrats to be a temperamental lot who changes their minds at the drop of a hat. One minute our water and sewer lines were fine, the next minute they weren't. Most of the time you get the feeling that the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. Frankly, I believe bureaucrats add at least 33% to the cost and time for such projects, but perhaps I'm being too conservative in my estimate.
- You Can't Buy Customer Loyalty
There is no loyal customer today. This is a statement that rings loud at typical sales meetings. I should know. This is the subject of sales meetings (formal or otherwise) at the companies I worked for in the last 12 years. This truth creates both a predicament and an opportunity. For companies that want to enter a new market, it is an opportunity to grab market share, grow a new revenue stream, and increase profits. For companies under attack, it is a threat against which constant vigilance and willingness to adapt are a must.
- Business Directories
A web directory is a directory on the World Wide Web that categorizes web sites and provides links to each one. Unlike search engines, it lists web sites by category and subcategory. This categorization is mostly based on the content of the whole web site, instead of a page or a keyword. Here, web sites can only be listed in only one or two categories. Site owners may directly submit their site to be included in the directory to be reviewed by the directory’s editors for fitness.
